Originally designed for the largest dimensions, LEINER's custom made COMO cassette awning with VARIO-VOLANT valance meets the highest standards despite a cassette height of just 17 cm. The extremely robust arm system keeps the awning fabric taut thanks to its special geometry. The LEINER tilting joint fitted as standard ensures a lastingly reliable closing behaviour, while the integrated high-impact brake guarantees safety and many years of precision functionality.

 

With the addition of a valance, the COMO VARIO-VOLANT both ensures privacy and provides customised shade that can be ideally adjusted to the course of the sun – a must for west-facing balconies or terraces at sunset. In the standard version the fabric of the valance is operated manually using a crank gear. Thanks to our wide range of fabrics, there are a lot of combination possibilities.

 

Particularly heavily loaded awning components, such as arm brackets or folding arm parts, are made from hardened aluminium. Our special manufacturing process not only makes the awning components more resistant, but also enhances the safety and long life of our awnings. The COMO VARIO-VOLANT is optionally available with a LED lighting system integrated in the folding arms. This can be wirelessly dimmable on request. The indirect light creates a moody atmosphere.

LEINER LOUNGE Colours awning with valance COMOThe COMO VARIO-VOLANT is available in a maximum width of 650 cm and a maximum projection of 400 cm, coupled systems with a slit cover in a maximum width of 1,950 cm and a maximum projection of 400 cm. In the standard version an electric motor is included.

 

The COMO VARIO-VOLANT comes in the standard colour white (RAL 9010), or in one of the 18 LEINER LOUNGE fine structured finishes. We can also supply them in any preferred RAL colour for an additional charge – ask your specialist partner for advice.

An COMO awning's wind protect systemWind Protect System

The Wind Protect System WPS is an innovation of LEINER and was originally developed for the more stringent requirements of awnings for cafés and restaurants. The Wind Protect System WPS is now also available for the COMO VARIO-VOLANT: fixable supports on the front profile significantly enhance the wind stability of your awning. Depending on the size of the awning, the WPS offers protection from winds up to wind strength 8 – even sudden gusts. A radio-controlled motor is available instead of an electric motor in the standard version. Thanks to Somfy io wireless technology, extending and retracting does not only work via remote control. Your smartphone can also be used for control. The io wireless system allows your awning to be integrated into your smart home. On request, the COMO VARIO-VOLANT can also be operated manually with a crank (lower price). The valance can be conveniently retracted and extended using a crank. If the awning is fitted with a radio-controlled motor, the valance can also be fitted with such a motor – for maximum convenience.

The SAFETY MOTION emergency manual drive is the last-resort concept for your awning – if the radio-controlled motor does not work, the COMO VARIO-VOLANT can be closed manually by crank with the emergency manual drive.

The radio-controlled motor drive variant can also be supplemented with a 3D sensor. Attached to the front profile, the sensor responds to the intensity of the movement of the awning, retracting it automatically if the wind gets too strong. Please note, however, that an electronic control will not protect your awning from sudden strong gusts of wind.

Wind control system of awning COMOControl

Fully automated controls complement the electric drive and offer additional comfort and safety as sun and wind monitors, automatically extending or retracting your awning according to the sunlight or wind strength, even when you are not at home. Please note, however, that an electronic control will not protect your awning from sudden strong gusts of wind. An alternative is the manual Wind Protect System WPS. This optional extra variant stabilises your awning and also absorbs the sudden loads produced by gusts.

A heater allows you to sit out longer on those balmy summer evenings and enjoy the pleasant warmth under your awning. The heaters are also available in one of our 18 LEINER LOUNGE colours to match the awning. You also have the option of operating it wirelessly and integrating it into your smart home.

The CALYPSO ROLL side awning protects against both sunlight from the side and inquisitive glances – making it the perfect complement to the COMO VARIO-VOLANT for your terrace or balcony. The side awning protects also against light wind.

What is...?

  • LEINER LOUNGE COLOURS
    xThe LEINER LOUNGE COLOURS are used for the awning components and are characterised by a very finely structured surface and special metallic effect. The particularly high-grade powder coating is available in a total of 18 colours and is also extremely robust.
  • Hardened aluminium
    x

    This is a special aluminium alloy that is given additional hardness through a subsequent thermal process. The material guarantees long life and resistance and meets the highest safety requirements. The special LEINER manufacturing process doubles the resistance and results in a durable strength of up to 350 N/mm². Thanks to the hardened aluminium, even awnings with a projection of 4 metres and on the other hand heavier profiles with an additional VARIO-VOLANT valance can be realized.

    Arm brackets are among the most heavily used components of an awning. LEINER uses hardened aluminium. The arm brackets must withstand extreme leverage forces, as the folding arms of the awning are attached to them.
