The RIVA – the flexible little cassette awning

Despite its compact, filigree structure and a cassette height of just 12 cm, the RIVA cassette awning model has plenty to offer. The extremely heavy-duty arm system keeps the awning fabric taut thanks to its special geometry. Uniquely for a cassette awning, the inclination of the RIVA can be set anywhere between 0 and 90 degrees. If mounted overhead, the fixing brackets of the RIVA are almost invisible, allowing the elegant form of the cassette to really stand out.

Particularly heavily loaded awning components, such as side bearings, are made from hardened aluminium. Our special manufacturing process not only makes the awning components more resistant, but also enhances the safety and long life of our awnings. Details

RIVA awning: LEINER LOUNGE colours The RIVA is available in a maximum width of 500 cm and a maximum projection of 300 cm. In the standard version an electric motor is included. It is not possible to supply coupled systems.

The RIVA comes in the standard colour white (RAL 9010), or alternatively in one of the 18 LEINER LOUNGE fine structured finishes. We can also supply them in any preferred RAL colour for an additional charge – ask your dealer for advice.

Wind Protect System

The Wind Protect System WPS is an innovation of LEINER and was originally developed for the more stringent requirements of awnings for cafés and restaurants. The Wind Protect System WPS is now also available for the RIVA: fixable supports on the front profile significantly enhance the wind stability of your awning. Depending on the size of the awning, the WPS offers protection from winds up to wind strength 8 – even sudden gusts. For a wind tunnel test of the Wind Protect System WPS, take a look at this video.

Drive

A radio-controlled motor is available instead of an electric motor in the standard version. Thanks to Somfy io wireless technology, extending and retracting does not only work via remote control. Your smartphone can also be used for control. The io wireless system allows your awning to be integrated into your smart home. On request, the RIVA can also be operated manually with a crank (lower price).

SAFETY MOTION

The SAFETY MOTION emergency manual drive is the last-resort concept for your awning – if the radio-controlled motor does not work, the awning can be closed manually with the emergency manual drive using a crank.

3D sensor

The radio-controlled motor drive variant can also be supplemented with a 3D sensor. Attached to the front profile, the sensor responds to the intensity of the movement of the awning, retracting it automatically if the wind gets too strong. Please note, however, that an electronic control will not protect your awning from sudden strong gusts of wind.

Control

Fully automated controls complement the electric drive and offer additional comfort and safety as sun and wind monitors, automatically extending or retracting your awning according to the sunlight or wind strength, even when you are not at home. Please note, however, that an electronic control will not protect your awning from sudden strong gusts of wind. An alternative is the manual Wind Protect System WPS. This optional extra variant stabilises your awning and also absorbs the sudden loads produced by gusts.

Heater

A heater allows you to sit out longer on those balmy summer evenings and enjoy the pleasant warmth under your awning. The heaters are also available in one of our 18 LEINER LOUNGE colours to match the awning. You also have the option of operating it wirelessly and integrating it into your smart home.

CALYPSO ROLL side awning

The CALYPSO ROLL side awning protects against both sunlight from the side and inquisitive glances – making it the perfect complement to the RIVA for your terrace or balcony. The side awning protects also against light wind.

What is...?

Hardened aluminium

This is a special aluminium alloy that is given additional hardness through a subsequent thermal process. The material guarantees long life and resistance and meets the highest safety requirements. The special LEINER manufacturing process doubles the resistance and results in a durable strength of up to 350 N/mm². Thanks to the hardened aluminium, even awnings with a projection of 4 metres and on the other hand heavier profiles with an additional VARIO-VOLANT valance can be realized.

Energy saving

Awnings help to save energy. The timely extension of awnings protects rooms from overheating. Especially in air-conditioned room, the cooling output of your AC can be reduced significantly.

Wind Protect System (WPS)

Depending on the size of the awning, the WPS offers protection from winds of up to wind strength 8, even in the event of sudden gusts of wind.
Waterproofness
x
The waterproofness of an awning fabric depends on the material used and how the seams are processed. The waterproofness is often stated as the height of a water column, indicating the resistance to the penetration of water. A normal awning fabric has a water column rating of approx. 300 millimetres. With an additional coating, a rating of up to approx. 1,000 millimetres can be achieved. However, the stitching of awning fabrics results in potential leaks at the seams, whereas if the seams are welded the fabric is completely waterproof, regardless of the amount of rain. PVC awning fabrics are a completely waterproof alternative.
LEINER LOUNGE COLOURS
xThe LEINER LOUNGE COLOURS are used for the awning components and are characterised by a very finely structured surface and special metallic effect. The particularly high-grade powder coating is available in a total of 18 colours and is also extremely robust.
