With LEINER's patented SUNRAIN technology, the GASTRO SUNRAIN with VARIO-VOLANT valance is the perfect solution for sun and rain: the mobile, free-standing or fixed awning system provides shade and can also be upgraded to a wind-stable solution. The stable and intelligent design means the GASTRO SUNRAIN can remain extended even in heavy rain, making your restaurant's terrace largely independent of the weather.

 

The standard features include a waterproof awning fabric made of high-performance PVC that is easy to print on for advertising purposes. The waterproof awning fabric allows rain to run off in a controlled manner from an incline of just 7.5 degrees and makes it an interesting alternative to terrace roofs. As an optional extra, you can upgrade your GASTRO SUNRAIN with LED elements, integrated in the frame profile. They can be dimmed steplessly via remote controll and create a moody atmosphere. This prolongs the time your guests enjoy your terrace at night.

 

The GASTRO SUNRAIN is custom-made. Its free-standing aluminium frame can be securely bolted on a concrete foundation or fitted with a ground socket. If it is not possible to fix it to the ground, or if you want to keep your options open, an elegant socket with concrete weights and integrated cover is available as standard. The awning, which can be extended and retracted at the touch of a button, provides optimum protection from the sun and rain for areas of up to 40 m2 – or up to 135 m2 with coupled systems.

 

With a steplessly extendible VARIO-VOLANT valance (fitted on one or on both sides), the GASTRO SUNRAIN becomes a sun guard for your guests that adapts ideally to the course of the sun – perfect for west-facing outdoor restaurant terraces at sunset. In the standard version the fabric of the valance is operated manually using a crank gear. You have a choice of many combination options of different fabrics and drive types.

 

Particularly heavily loaded awning components, such as arm brackets or folding arms, are made from hardened aluminium. Our special manufacturing process not only makes the awning components more resistant, but also enhances the safety and long life of our awnings. LEINER LOUNGE awnings colours

The GASTRO SUNRAIN VARIO-VOLANT is available in a maximum width of 650 cm. If you choose for a valance on just one side, the maximum projection will be 350 cm. With a valance on each side, the maximum projection is 700 cm.

Coupled awnings with a slit cover can be supplied in a maximum width of 1,950 cm.

 

In the standard version an electric motor is included.

 

The GASTRO SUNRAIN VARIO-VOLANT comes in the standard colours white (RAL 9010) or LEINER LOUNGE grey with frame profiles of anodized aluminium (E6/EV1); alternatively, for an additional charge, in one of the 17 other LEINER LOUNGE fine textured finishes or in any preferred RAL colour – ask your specialist partner for advice.

Awning GASTRO SUNRAIN with valance and wind protect systemWind Protect System

The Wind Protect System WPS is an innovation of LEINER and was especially developed for the more stringent requirements of awnings for cafés and restaurants. The Wind Protect System WPS is also available for the GASTRO SUNRAIN VARIO-VOLANT: fixable supports on the front profile significantly enhance the wind stability of your awning. Depending on the size of the awning, the WPS offers protection from winds up to wind strength 8 – even in the event of sudden gusts of wind. GASTRO SUNRAIN awning's radio controlDrive

A radio-controlled motor is available instead of an electric motor in the standard version. Thanks to Somfy io wireless technology, extending and retracting does not only work via remote control. Your smartphone can also be used for control. The io wireless system allows your awning to be integrated into your smart home.

On request, the GASTRO SUNRAIN can also be operated manually with a crank (lower price). The VARIO-VOLANT valance can be conveniently retracted and extended using a crank. If the awning is fitted with a radio-controlled motor, the VARIO-VOLANT valance can also be fitted with such a motor – for maximum convenience.

The radio-controlled motor drive variant can also be supplemented with a 3D sensor. Attached to the front profile, the sensor responds to the intensity of the movement of the awning, retracting it automatically if the wind gets too strong. Please note, however, that an electronic control will not protect your awning from sudden strong gusts of wind.

LED elements neatly integrated into the frame profile or folding arms ensure the right atmosphere and can be dimmed remotely.

 

Awning heaters in LEINER LOUNGE coloursHeater

A heater allows you to sit out longer on those balmy summer evenings and enjoy the pleasant warmth under your awning. The heaters are also available in one of our 18 LEINER LOUNGE colours to match the awning. You also have the option of operating it wirelessly and integrating it into your smart home.

Fully automated wind control of an awning with valanceControl

Fully automated controls complement the electric drive and offer additional comfort and safety as sun and wind monitors, automatically extending or retracting your awning according to the sunlight or wind strength, even when you are not at home. Please note, however, that an electronic control will not protect your awning from sudden strong gusts of wind. An alternative is the manual Wind Protect System WPS. This optional extra variant stabilises your awning and also absorbs the sudden loads produced by gusts.

    The Wind Protect System WPS is an innovation of LEINER and was originally developed for the more stringent requirements of awnings for the gastronomy. Fixable supports on the front profile significantly enhance the wind stability of your awning. Depending on the size of the awning, the WPS offers protection from winds of up to wind strength 8, even in the event of sudden gusts of wind.

  • Purlin
    x

    This is the key component of the SUNRAIN awning, patented by LEINER. Movably mounted on the folding arms, two purlins per SUNRAIN awning support the fabric awning to help counteract the sagging effect. Kept taut, the fabric allows rainwater to run off.

  • Hardened aluminium
    x

    This is a special aluminium alloy that is given additional hardness through a subsequent thermal process. The material guarantees long life and resistance and meets the highest safety requirements. The special LEINER manufacturing process doubles the resistance and results in a durable strength of up to 350 N/mm². Thanks to the hardened aluminium, even awnings with a projection of 4 metres and on the other hand heavier profiles with an additional VARIO-VOLANT valance can be realized.

  • Précontraint 302
    x

    This high-performance PVC fabric was especially developped as an awning fabric. Précontraint 302 is used with SUNRAIN awnings and 100% watertight. Furthermore this awning is odour neutral and flame retardant (EN 13501-1, class B1), stable in length and easy to clean. Précontraint 302 offers the highest sun protection factor of 80 – even in white.

  • SUNRAIN
    x

    Conventional awnings with normal awning fabrics are hardly suitable as rain protection. SUNRAIN awnings are a patented innovation from LEINER and registered as a trade mark. They were developed specifically for use in both sun and rain and are fitted with a 100% waterproof PVC high-performance fabric (see also the lexicon entry for Précontraint 302). Whereas awnings usually require an inclination of at least 15 degrees, the rainwater runs off from a SUNRAIN with an inclination of just 5 degrees. The special geometry of the folding arm also creates more "space" below the awning.
